A memorandum of cooperation was signed with the international program of the Forest Service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the United Nations in the field of strengthening the national capacity to fight against crimes against wild animals and plants.

E. Battulga, TNBD of the Ministry of Agriculture, received the representatives of the US Department of Agriculture and signed a memorandum of understanding.

The goal of this international program is to strengthen the national capacity to fight and prevent crimes against wild animals and plants, and the following objectives will be implemented within the project.

It includes:

  1. Improve understanding of the issue, with a particular focus on the criminal trade in wildlife;
  2. Contribute to the implementation of effective law enforcement strategies to combat wildlife and plant crime, trafficking and related natural resource crimes;
  3. Strengthening of national, regional and international networks and communities to combat wildlife and plant crime and trafficking.

The project will ensure the implementation of the goal of protection and appropriate use of wild animals and plants, which is included in the long-term development policy of Mongolia “Vision-2050”, “New Revival Policy”, and the government’s 2020-2024 action program.
